Whether you're a student, mother, software engineer, lawyer, or other full-time professional, we offer the practice of reconnecting with our bodies, freeing our creative workflow, and focusing on our emotional needs in order to successfully reach our personal or professional goals.

Who is this for? 

For left-brained leaning people who would like to explore their other side and experiment with a different kind of expression. If you're someone who spends a lot of time on the computer and would like to get back in touch with your body, this is for you. You do not have to be an (experienced) artist or dancer to dive into expression through simple movements and art exercises that are designed to tap into your imagination and emotive self. 

A Typical Session

We will have a 5-10 minute verbal check in about what issue you would like to work with. Depending on your personal goals, we will host movement, drawing, collage, paint and writing exercises designed to for exploration in expression. A non-analytic reflection will occur allowing feedback on what was seen, heard, felt and noticed during the session. Possible take home activities might be suggested to help consistently balance and ground you.

Who Is This For? 

From dancers, artists, students, those in transition from a job or a time in their life,  classes are paced for those who already work with movement and the arts but are seeking an outlet from "perfecting their work". From dancers, painters, to masseuses, physical therapists and fitness trainers, The Talking Body allows for the expansion of how you connect to your body and emotions in your routine lifestyle. 

A Typical Session

A typical class session is 1.5 to 2 hours long. Classes are varied depending on student's needs and focuses.

A Typical Session

Depending on the needs of the community or group, the workshop will feature group exercises in movement, art, and teamwork. Workshops can span a few hours, half a day, a full day, or a weekend, and travel is flexible. Creativity Through Mind/Body Awareness

Sundays Sep 16, Oct 7, Nov 4, & Dec 2 | 10:00AM - 1:00PM  | $180 | JBS, 5390 Miles Avenue, Oakland

Do you want to Engage with yourself in a different way? This class will explore the physical, mental and imaginal landscapes of our body, mind and soul through movement, drawing, poetry, writing and performance. Through individual and group experiences new tools and resources will be gained that will renew, regenerate and inspire the whole being. Curriculum for this class series is based on The Life/Art Process® pioneered by Anna Halprin and Daria Halprin.

All are welcome: no previous experience in dance/art needed, and I will provide the art materials. Please bring a journal and a writing utensil.
