I am feeling spring in the air!

The hills are vibrant shades of green from all the rain we have had and the trees are blooming with wonderful flowers. I am feeling a bit of excitement through this change and I am noticing the deep desire to connect with joy.

Welcome to my go-to daily dose of joy through the power of music and dance. It’s really simple and it is something you can do anywhere and anytime. As many of you know, there is nothing more that I love doing than to put on some great music and dance!

When I move my body, I get out of my head. When I move my body I connect with myself. I can tap into a sense of freedom, joy and pleasure . I can let go of physical tension, emotional anxiety and mental stress. And, when I put on the right music to “shake things up” I find I can connect with joy and pleasure. 

In today's busy world, it's easy to forget to take a moment for ourselves and let loose. Whether you're out in the world, at home, in the supermarket or in your car, there's always a reason to take a dance break. Whether you are alone or with others, DANCE!

So turn up the music and let yourself go!

Dancing is a way to express yourself creatively and connect with others. When you move your body freely, you can tap into your emotions and allow yourself to let go of inhibitions. 

Close your eyes and dance as if no one is watching!

This can be a powerful form of stress relief, as it allows you to release tension and negative feelings in a positive and healthy way. Dancing can increase energy and reduce depression. Moreover, research has shown that dancing can have cognitive benefits as well. A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that dancing can reduce the risk of dementia in older adults.

So, what are you waiting for? It's time to take a daily dance break and bust out your moves. Your body and mind will thank you for it.
